Christmas

We really had a fun Christmas this year.  It was really just us.  In the past we've gotten together with a family of friends, but they were all either out of town or moved(we're so sad), so it was really just us.  And it was kind of great.
Sunday cuties!

I love this little dress that we got for Brooke when she was a baby.

Making sugar cookies.  Reid grew up in a family that is really into holiday baking, so he doesn't feel like it is Christmas without some serious holiday treat making.  This year we've been kind of busy and really just did sugar cookies, peppermint popcorn and chocolate covered pretzels.

We made gingerbread houses.  We've found that this is a great way to use some of the aforementioned parade candy.

Chrismas Morning

Owen was very excited about the Angry Bird game, he gave me :).

Brooke's favorite presents were probably the Lego Friends sets, and the necklace she got from Santa.  Owen really liked the angry bird game and his bow and arrow set has been a great hit with both of them.  I got Reid a Garmin watch that he is very excited about and Reid got me an itouch which I love and the promise of a Ninja blender which is exciting.

The kids got Reid a glow in the dark science kit, here they are doing one of the experiments together.

Brooke really wanted to make a cake so she could make a heart on the top out of candy canes.

Brooke was so inspired by Owen's bow and arrow set, that she went outside and made her own.

It was such a great Christmas.  We started opening presents at 6 and we didn't really leave the living room until 7 that night.  We were just playing and playing and playing.  It was so much fun!  We hope you all had a Merry Christmas as well!

Stuff

I haven't posted in a while because I got that blogger message about not having enough storage so I had to figure out what to do.  Anyways here are some of the things we've been up to.

Millie is an eater.  She loves baby food. She gets upset when I don't get the food to her fast enough.

Just hanging out.  Owen is such a good big brother.  He is always watching out for Millie- so sweet.
On Thanksgiving morning we went for a run/ bike ride.  Brooke rode her bike the whole 5 miles and Owen rode his bike for 2 miles.  They did so great and it was fun to be able to do something like that with them.

We took some pictures at Thanksgiving, unfortunately the battery died right after this picture was taken so I didn't know that glass was totally blocking Millie.  Oh well it was a delicious dinner!

Owen's new favorite super hero/ villain to impersonate is Magneto from X-men, kind of funny.

Brooke has been taking gymnastics with her friend Kaitlyn and loves it.

We went and saw Santa.  Owen asked for a Captain America shield ( I guess the one I made him wasn't cool enough) and Brooke asked for a jewelry maker because she was embarrassed to ask for the Transformers she really wants and decided she would just send Santa a letter asking for Transformers.

Brooke has lost her first two teeth ( this picture only shows one missing but she lost another one a few days later).

We went to the Christmas parade where my kids got more candy than they got trick or treating.  We let them eat it that night but I keep forgetting to get it back down for them to eat.  Did I mention I still have candy from last years Christmas parade that I keep forgetting to throw away?

Happy Halloween

So can I say, I've always loved Halloween but oh my it is a pain.  I am exhausted!  But we all had fun and it is all over for another year!

Millie was an elephant.  Isn't she the cutest?

Owen was the Incredible Hulk, which we thought was so fitting.  I wonder why we thought encouraging the negative behavior we are often upset about was a good idea.  But he was kind of awesome, so oh well.

Brooke was Cleopatra.  Here she is practicing her "Egyptian walk".

Again, how cute is that elephant?

We went to the Boo at the Zoo.

I made Ghostly Sheperd's Pie.  My favorite Halloween dinner!

 We carved pumpkins.

We made Halloween marshmallow pops and introduced our kids to Michael Jackson's thriller and tried to demonstrate moonwalking which we are both awful at.

 Pictures with friends.

Can you tell my kids are excited about the candy?

Happy Halloween! Thank goodness it is over, I'm tired!
