Tybee Island

We went on a trip down to Tybee Island, right by Savannah, Georgia. We stayed in a little house 2 blocks from the beach and we had so much fun. I am not really a beach person, open water freaks me out and sand is really dirty and gets everywhere; but I can't think of a more perfect vacation forour family right now. We all had so much fun!

Brooke loved looking for seashells and had fun trying out boogie boarding, Owen had fun digging in the sand and jumping in the waves, I had fun running on the beach and reading, and Reid enjoyed not having to go to work, getting to play with his kids, and eating yummy seafood and delicious key lime pie. We also got to spend a morning in Savannah on our way home. We went on a tour of the city and had fun learning all about Paula Deen, Savannah's pride and joy. I got Paula Deen's cookbook and I am excited to try some of the recipes out, they look so good! We also stopped at Savanna's candy kitchen and bought some delicious pralines, oh they were so good. It was the perfect vacation for our family, we all had so much fun!

Happy Father's Day!

I love watching Reid with our kids. He will get down on the floor and roll around and play with them. They have so much fun with him.
When Reid gets home from work each day the kids go crazy, they are just so excited to see him. Those kids love him like crazy! I am so thankful for him and the great dad that he is. Also, I was thinking I should probably step it up a little next Father's day. On Mother's day Reid made me a delicious pink lemonade cheesecake, and today we had rootbeer floats. Someone opted for the easy route!

Grand Ole Opry

For the first time ever we left our kids overnight, and it was so great! Not living by family we've never really had an opportunity to leave our kids overnight. But my very nice friend Natalie had offered several times to watch our kids and we decided to take her up on it. Owen is not a good sleeper so I was a little nervous leaving him, but I think he did ok. We went to the
Grand Ole Opry in Nashville and stayed at the Opryland resort. The resort was so cool, it has this whole atrium inside that is just gorgeous. I of course forgot my camera at the Opry, but we saw Carrie Underwood, Martina McBride, Lady Antebellum, Darius Rucker, Jarrod niemann and others. It was so fun to get away for a little bit, we had such a great time! Thanks Natalie!

Cute Boxes

Brooke loves collecting. She has several different collections going, mostly rocks, seashells, jewels and other interesting items. Her collections were driving me a little crazy because they always ended up in ugly diaper and wipe boxes. Being the control freak that I am it was killing me that these boxes were uglifying her cute room. So one day at the store I sat in the cute box isle (you know hat boxes and such)contemplating spending $30 on boxes when I thought I would try to make some boxes for her. So when I got home I got some shoeboxes, scrapbook paper and mod podge and Brooke and I went to town. I love her new boxes, I think they turned out really cute. And she loves having places just for her collections. One thingI would change, Brooke wrote labels on the top of them, you know "Brooke's Fairy Stuff", "Brooke's Collection" and I should have had her do it on the front so you could see her cute handwriting better. But it was a way fun, easy projectthat we are both happy with.
