Spring Break- Disney World

After spending a few days in Palm Beach with Patti and her family, we went to Disney World.  We hadn't told the kids about Disney World and they were pretty excited when they finally figured it out.  We had a lot of fun at Disney World, it was not really a great time to go, it was SO crowded and kind of cold, but we made some great memories, had fun and don't have to go back for 7 or 8 years, which is great.

We had breakfast at the Crystal Palace on the first day which was a fun start to the day.  We got to meet all the Winnie the Pooh characters and they all played with the kids for a minute and signed their books.

We got really lucky with Princess Jasmine.  The kids were riding Aladdin's Magic Carpets and they announced that she would be meeting people right after the ride for only 15 minutes.
We went to see some of the other princesses but when Brooke saw that the wait time was 75 minutes she decided she really didn't care that much.

On our second day, there was an early park hour so we got to the park a little after 7.  We were able to get on a lot of rides really quick, but it was cold and we had dressed our kids for the afternoon weather so they were freezing.

I think we rode on everything we wanted to and some twice.  Brooke's favorite was Peter Pan's Flying Adventure.  Owen and I liked, It's a Small World, and I think Reid liked the Haunted Mansion and Pirates of the Caribbean.  Reid and I convinced Brooke to ride Space Mountain with him and when they got off, she said "Mom, how come you said it was kind of like a roller coaster, it was exactly like a roller coaster."

Brooke was such a good sport about the whole thing.  She was so happy and had such a good attittude the whole time, it really made the whole thing worth it to see how happy she was.  Millie did SO good.  I was a little worried as she has not been great at sleeping except in her crib, but I think we got her tired enough and she fell asleep great in her stroller.

We stayed at a Disney World Hotel and it had some really cool pools the kids loved even though it was kind of freezing.  Brooke especially liked the slide at the pool.  Millie really loved the pool, but she and I didn't stay too long.

Owen was a little worn out after the second day at Disney World and fell asleep at dinner.

He did manage to wake up for one of the things the kids were most excited about, they were showing Wreck it Ralph, outside at the hotel.  That was definitely one of the kids favorite things from the trip.
We went to Downtown Disney twice.  It was fun to see all the different stores and restaurants they have down there.
We had lunch the last day we were there at the Rainforest Cafe.  The kids loved eating byt the gorilla and the thunderstorms were cool too.  They also had an awesome kids menu, the kids shared ribs and popcorn shrimp, yumm!

It really was a fun trip, we made a lot of great memories and really had a lot of fun together!

Spring Break- Palm Beach

My sister Patti, and her husband and daughter are living in Palm Beach for a few months so we decided to go visit them.

We stopped off at a beach in Georgia on St. Simon's Island, which I seriously fell in love with.  It was cold, but the kids were so excited they didn't really mind.

My niece Heather was also visiting with her two boys.  Owen and Mason are the same age and really hit it off.  They had a lot of fun playing pirates on the hammock at Patti's.

We went to the beach, the waves were a little crazy but we had a great time.  We sure do love the beach, it is such a great place for kids.

Reid and I went running, and Millie cried until she finally wore herself out and fell asleep, that girl does not like to be without her parents.

We had such a great time, it was so fun to see Patti and Dave and Ellie and worked out great that we got to see Heather and Mason and Jack too.  So fun!

BYU Vs. Georgia Tech

We went down to Atlanta to watch the BYU football game.  Reid thinks going to BYU football games is a good way to help our kids to see what a great school BYU is so they will all want to go there.  But anyways we went to the football game, BYU won, the kids had fun, it was great!

Camping

Brooke had Spring Break so we decided to go camping for a couple days.  The kids love camping and as I figured this would be the last time I'd be up for it in a while we decided to go for it.  To be honest, I never really look forward to camping but when we go I'm amazed at how much fun we all have.  This time was no exception, we had so much fun hiking (there were so many gorgeous waterfalls), canoeing, playing in the water and eating smores.  We just had so much fun!
There were a few downsides, Brooke spilled really hot soup on her arm which was awful, but she was actually really tough about it; some racoons ate all of the food out of our cooler the first night we were there, but it was almost worth it just to listen to Owen talk about how mad he was at the raccoons for eating his hot dogs; and we were camped a little ways away from the bathroom, which would have been fine unless your a pregnant woman that has to go to the bathroom every 10 minutes.

Anyways, I guess the sign of a great trip is that even when crappy things happen we all still had fun and we just loved getting so much time to hang out together.  I just have to remember that I really do like camping!
Brooke was such a great helper, I think she might know more about setting up a tent than I do.

The kids just loved all the waterfalls, they were so beautiful!
When we told the kids the racoons had eaten our food the first thing they asked was "Did they eat the marshmallows?" Thankfully, they didn't.

This bridge really freaked me out, it was so old and rickety.

Brooke insists on doing one of these pictures everytime we go hiking, she thinks they're so funny.

It was such a great place to camp, because there were so many fun things to do.  The kids really loved canoeing.

We'll definitely have to go there again, it was so much fun.  Happy Spring Break!
