Funny Things!

Upon seeing a donut with sprinkles when she woke up
Brooke: It's my birthday???? It's my birthday!!!!

Going to bed at night
Brooke: Daddy the blanket is broken!
Reid: You mean it fell off the bed.
Brooke: No, it was broken but you fixed it. Thanks!

Waking up in the morning
Brooke: Mommy, mommy is today tomorrow?

At lunch
Brooke: Mommy the mouse doesn't need scotch tape, he needs a magnet.
Me: What?
Brooke: The mouse needs a magnet to hang a picture on the fridge.
Me: Huh?
Brooke: We don't use scotch tape, we use magnets.
Me: Are you talikng about the mouse in the cookie book?
Brooke: Of course
(Just for the record it had been weeks since we had read If you give a mouse a Cookie so I don't know how this came up, but it was funny.)

At dinner
Brooke: Mommy you and Owen are special.
Me: You are special too Brooke.
Brooke: No, I'm perfect.
Me: Is daddy special or perfect?
Brooke: He's just silly!

Oh I love her! What a fun age!

He Smiles!

I've been trying to get a picture of Owen smiling for weeks and I always seem to miss it. But I've finally managed to get a few! Isn't he handsome!

Happy Birthday Miss Gorilla and more

Brooke loves birthdays and is constantly talking about whose birthday comes next and what you do for birthdays. So last week we decided to have a little birthday party for Miss Gorilla. Brooke decorated, set up all of Miss Gorilla's friends, got out party hats and made a delicious play dough cake. Yum!

My dad and step-mom came to visit a few weeks ago. We had a great time visiting with them. On Saturday we went to an International Festival at the Children's Museum. There were some cool African dancers, some czech sword dancers and a lot of delicious food, we enjoyed the polish and Mediterranean dishes. Brooke enjoyed makin some different crafts and just spending time with her grandparents.

The other day I was changing Owen in the other room when I heard Brooke in the kitchen talking about making cookies. When I got in there I found that she had gotten the mixing bowl and measuring cups out and she was busy measuring out sugar, flour and water into the measuring bowl. She made a huge mess, but the funny thing is she really seemed to know what she was doing. I guess that might be a sign that we're making cookies a little too often.
