Stuff

I haven't posted in a while because I got that blogger message about not having enough storage so I had to figure out what to do.  Anyways here are some of the things we've been up to.

Millie is an eater.  She loves baby food. She gets upset when I don't get the food to her fast enough.

Just hanging out.  Owen is such a good big brother.  He is always watching out for Millie- so sweet.
On Thanksgiving morning we went for a run/ bike ride.  Brooke rode her bike the whole 5 miles and Owen rode his bike for 2 miles.  They did so great and it was fun to be able to do something like that with them.

We took some pictures at Thanksgiving, unfortunately the battery died right after this picture was taken so I didn't know that glass was totally blocking Millie.  Oh well it was a delicious dinner!

Owen's new favorite super hero/ villain to impersonate is Magneto from X-men, kind of funny.

Brooke has been taking gymnastics with her friend Kaitlyn and loves it.

We went and saw Santa.  Owen asked for a Captain America shield ( I guess the one I made him wasn't cool enough) and Brooke asked for a jewelry maker because she was embarrassed to ask for the Transformers she really wants and decided she would just send Santa a letter asking for Transformers.

Brooke has lost her first two teeth ( this picture only shows one missing but she lost another one a few days later).

We went to the Christmas parade where my kids got more candy than they got trick or treating.  We let them eat it that night but I keep forgetting to get it back down for them to eat.  Did I mention I still have candy from last years Christmas parade that I keep forgetting to throw away?

Blessing

We blessed Camille today.  It was kind of sad to not have any family here with us.  But it really made me thankful for my little family and especially for Millie.  We prayed for and hoped for her and I am just so thankful to have her in our family.  In her blessing, Reid talked about her strong understanding of what is right and of the great example she will be for her family and friends and I am just so thankful for her.

I am so thankful to have this wonderful family and to be able to have the gospel to help me to teach them and help them become the people they can be is so wonderful.  We definitely are so blessed.
Also, if your wondering why there was a lack of Owen in the pictures here you go.

Adjusting

It is so wonderful to have a new baby in our family, we love Camille to pieces.  But it is also a big adjustment, for all of us.
Millie loves to be held, seriously like all of the time.  Which is wonderful, when you just want to sit on the couch holding an adorable baby and say "sorry about dinner honey but the baby was crying and I had to hold her".  Her desire to be held constantly is not so wonderful whenever I have the idea of accomplishing anything.  But Millie is turning into a pretty good sleeper, I had my doubts, up until this week she was sleeping in 3 hour chunks, but then this week she slept for 6 hours one night and then 7 the next kind of amazing.

Owen loves being a big brother.  He loves holding Millie and talking to her.  One funny story, when Owen came to the hospital when Millie was born he ran up and gave me a hug, looked at my stomach and said "The baby is out of your belly?" "Can I hit you now?"  Apparently our constant refrain of be careful mommy has a baby in her belly, really sunk in.  You gotta love that crazy kid.

Brooke adores Millie, she is so sweet with her.  One sunday when we were getting ready for church I heard Brooke talking to Millie, she was saying "Oh Millie, you are just the cutest thing, seriously you are so cute and adorable, Oh Millie you are just so cute, just like me" over and over again.  At least she is kind in her vanity, right?

As for me, I took all 3 kids to the grocery store last week and we all survived, so that is pretty great, right?

Camille's Room

Kid rooms are my favorite places to decorate. I love that they are smaller so little things make a big impact, you can use fun colors and there are so many cool things you can do for wall art. So as soon as we found out that we were having a girl I got busy.

I had an idea to paint the room gray but then I remembered that I absolutely hate painting and I decided the yellow worked fine. I liked Brooke's baby bedding but I felt like it didn't make a huge impact, so I decided to rip up the blanket because you never use it anyways and use the fabric. I used the fabric to make a bunting, rosettes for a throw pillow and decorate the lampshade.  The fabric definitely makes more of an impact used throughout the room than it did just on the blanket.  I especially love the bunting and that I didn't even have to sew!

For the walls I had the kids each make some pictures for her and framed them.  They love telling people about how they made pictures for Baby Millie and I love that I was able to include them in getting ready for her.  For the other pictures I did an ABC art that spelled out her name that I saw on Pinterest and I cut out some butterflies.

I really love her room its simple and cute and girly without being pepto-bismalish.

Camille

Camille Lela James
Our new baby girl was born on Thursday, June 14.
She weighed 7 lbs. 13 oz. and was 20 in. long.  She has a little bit of brown hair like Owen did, and a strawberry on her forehead like Brookie.  We're so excited she is here, she sure is a cutie!
