I love making goals and I get an especially big kick out of making New Years Resolutions. I like thinking about the changes I want to see in myself and in my life. I like goals, they please my list making tendencies and I think they're fun. So I got this idea from my sister-in-law Amy and last night we all made some goals for 2010.
Reid:
Pass the Proffesional Engineering Exam
Buy a house
Get in shape
Build a tv stand
Read a book
Bonnie:
Be Nicer. I was thinking about this in three different ways. First of all, no gossiping. I don't this too much, but whenever I idly say something about someone not meaning to gossip but just talking, I feel so bad and I hate it. Second, I want to be friendlier. I have a hard time getting to know people, I feel awkward and nervous. So I tend to expect people to get to know me without making the effort myself. Lastly, I want to be quicker to help and to be kind. Whenever I see a situation where someone needs help I think it through too much. I wonder if they really need help, if I would just be more of a nuisance than a help, if I really could help, etc. I really just want to work on being a nicer, kinder person.
Learn to Hula Hoop I've never been able to hula hoop. Nope, not even once. But I have this feeling that this is the year my crazy good hula hooping skills are going to show themselves!
Make a budget and stick to it all year long. I love making budgets, it is so fun! Sticking to them on the other hand is not my strong suit.
Make our home a peaceful & more welcoming place. I want to try and keep our house cleaner (don't think we are disgusting or anything I just think our house could be a little cleaner). I am fairly good at keeping our house neat, but not so great at the deep cleaning and the organinzing, that needs some work. Also,I've been thinking I need to invest in some really good smelling candles or scentsy or something to make our house a more inviting and pleasant place to be. My secret wish is that I could always have fresh flowers in my house, fresh flowers always seem to make places more inviting and happy. But alas, that is a little pricey for us.
Read the Book of Mormon from cover to cover. Lately I've been jumping around a lot in the scriptures and I want to get back and just read through the Book of Mormon, from start to finish again.
Brooklin
Get better at riding my bike
Be a better sharer
Learn to write
Learn to jump rope
Memorize all 13 Articles of Faith (she's already memorized the first 8)
Brooke was so excited about making her goals and she has been talking about them ever since.
Owen
(Brooke graciously helped Owen come up with some goals!)
Learn to clean up his toys
Learn to talk
Learn to not eat toys
Be a good brother
Get better at walking and running, so you don't fall so much.
So those are our goals for this year. You can tell who thinks things through a little too much :)
Happy New Year!

I don't know if I'm making this up but I swear I remember me and emily making you hula hoop over and over because we didn't believe that you couldn't do it. did that ever happen?
